Select Van Moving Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Tractor/Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks and trailers to ensure they are in safe and reliable working condition.   • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company-owned tractors and trailers, including inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, brake adjustments, tire replacements, and fluid checks.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the fleet.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure vehicles comply with all DOT regulations.
  • Assist in emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Work closely with the operations team to minimize downtime and ensure the fleet is available and operational.
  • Keep the shop area organized and clean, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a tractor/trailer mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
